Little Sheep Mongolian Hot Pot

Went to the Little Sheep Mongolian Hot Pot at Lansdowne Centre - the one who claimed to be the original Little Sheep in China. During the month of May, they offer all-you-can-eat hot pot every Tuesday.

The food was not bad. They are famous for their soup base which doesn't require extra seasoning on the food. It turns out to be quite true, well at least for me I didn't ask for any soy sauce. The first round of order was ok, we got the food pretty quickly. but as soon as we placed the second round of order, it took forever to arrive and in the end, we were missing quite a bit of stuff that we had ordered.

It's definitely true that the service kinda sucked, but I blamed it on the lack of coordination and preparation for this special promotion that they are doing. We were lucky because our reservation was at 6pm. Even though they restrict each seating to be 1.5 hour long, there's no way you can finish eating in 1.5 hours if your food doesn't arrive promptly. When we left, it was past 8pm and there's a huge line-up at the door waiting to be seated. No, they weren't walk-in's. These people had made reservations like we did, but they were stuck at the door because the previous seating finished late. I was just surprised by the fact that they did not have enough staff to run the floor, nor were they able to serve the uncooked food within a reasonable amount of time. Come on, you know you're only doing this for 5 weeks and you know you'd attract a lot of customers - then why aren't you prepared for it?!

Of course, I was also disappointed that we didn't get what we ordered - but that might be unique to our case as others didn't seem to have that problem (although this seems to be a common practice when it comes to all-you-can-eat restaurants...they tend to give you less than what you order...)

Anyways, you can give it a try. Highly recommend going as early as 5:30pm if you can.
